OUR MOM, BARBARA H. PARKER, WAS CALLED HOME TO THE LORD ON APRIL 22, 2024,ONE MONTH BEFORE HER 99TH BIRTHDAY. SHE PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY WITH HER LIVING CHILDREN BY HER SIDE. SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER HUSBAND CHARLES A. PARKER AND THREE SONS, CHARLES A. PARKER JR., SCOTT A. PARKER & JAMES J. PARKER. SHE WAS THE LAST LIVING FAMILY MEMBER OF HER GENERATION. MOM WAS BORN TO JAMES AND KATRINA SCHOFIELD OF STATEN ISLAND ON MAY 24, 1925. SHE WAS THE OLDEST OF HER SIBLINGS GEORGE, JANICE, JAMES & MICHAEL. SHE WENT TO CURTIS HIGH SCHOOL S.I. AND LOVED THE FOOTBALL GAMES ON THANKSGIVING AGAINST NEW DORP HIGH SCHOOL WHERE HER CHILDREN ATTENDED. SHE CONVERTED FROM PROTESTANT TO CATHOLIC TO MARRY CHARLES A. PARKER, A NAVY VETERAN IN 1946. TOGETHER THEY HAD 11 CHILDREN, 5 GIRLS AND THEN 6 BOYS. HER CHILDREN GIFTED HER WITH 119 GRANDCHILDREN (41 GRANDS, 72 GREAT GRANDS AND 6 GREAT-GREAT GRANDS).

MOM IS SURVIVED BY HER CHILDREN LINDA E. STAPLETON, LAURA J. LOWERRE, BAMBI C. PARKER, CINDY C. ANDERSON, DIANA D. PUGARELLI, PATRICK C. PARKER, KEVIN J. PARKER AND KENNETH R. PARKER, SON-IN-LAWS, MICHAEL F. STAPLETON, RONALD LOWERRE & ROBERT PUGARELLI AND DAUGHTER-IN-LAWS GENEVIEVE DE ANGELIS, EILEEN BOULTON. OUR WONDERFUL MOM WAS ABLE TO TOUCH THE LIVES OF EVERYONE OF US AND WILL BE GREATLY MISSED. IT WAS CUSTOMARY THAT MOM ALWAYS PLACE $5.00 IN EVERY BIRTHDAY CARD. ALSO TO WRAP A GIFT, HOWEVER SMALL, TO EACH & EVERY OF HER CHILDRENS FAMILIES. A VIEWING WILL BE HELD IN BETHPAGE, LONG ISLAND AT CHAPEY & SON FUNERAL HOME ON FRIDAY APRIL 26TH 2024 FROM 4-8PM. THE FOLLOWING MORNING FROM 9-10AM A FINAL GOODBY FOR THE FAMILY FOLLOWED BY A REPAST AT JACKIE REILLY’S AT HICKSVILLE ROAD & HEMPSTEAD TURNPIKE.
